The Ministry of Education has successfully completed a four-day national training programme on blended learning methodologies, equipping 200 teachers from all ten provinces with digital skills to enhance classroom instruction and improve learning outcomes. Held from September 30 to October 3, 2025, the training was conducted in partnership with UNICEF and Airtel Zambia as part of the government’s ongoing digital transformation agenda in education.
The initiative aims to strengthen teaching capacity, promote inclusive access to technology, and address learning gaps through the use of modern, tech-enabled methodologies. As part of the programme, 200 schools received routers with 80GB monthly data packages, expanding internet access and enabling the integration of digital tools into everyday teaching. This builds on earlier collaborations between UNICEF and Airtel Zambia, which have already connected over 100 schools to the internet across the country.
The Ministry highlighted that this initiative demonstrates the value of public-private partnerships in driving innovation and sustainable educational development. To ensure long-term impact, WhatsApp support groups and monthly reporting mechanisms have been established to facilitate ongoing teacher engagement and monitoring. The digital training programme marks a key milestone in Zambia’s education reform efforts, reinforcing the Ministry’s commitment to innovation, equity, and excellence in delivering quality education for all learners.
