Stilfontein’s selection as host city carries symbolic weight. Once known for its gold mines, the town now shines as a beacon of transformation – where legacy meets precision sport. The event also aligns with South Africa’s broader efforts to promote responsible firearm ownership, international cooperation, and regional tourism.
Early results suggest strong performances from teams representing the United States, Czech Republic, Philippines, and Brazil. South Africa’s own delegation, led by veteran shooter Jaco du Plessis, earned praise for its tactical innovation and sportsmanship.
Beyond the range, attendees explored local heritage sites, culinary exhibitions, and artisanal markets. The event’s legacy includes infrastructure upgrades, youth training programs, and renewed interest in precision sports across Southern Africa.
