A young learner from Jabulani Technical School has brought pride to Soweto after his project was recognised at the 2025 Schools Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management Awards, hosted by City Power on Wednesday.
The awards ceremony celebrates the contribution of public high school learners in promoting energy efficiency and ensuring reliable electricity supply to communities. Lesedi Mokone, who represented Jabulani Technical School, expressed his excitement at the recognition.
“This was my first experience showcasing my project, and it has put my school on the map,” he said with pride. Mokone added that the experience brings him closer to his dream of becoming a qualified electrical engineer.
