Johannesburg: AfricUpdate – News Desk
The Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA) has announced the successful restoration and strengthening of network coverage in several towns across the country. Fully operational towers are now located in Putu-Telma (Grand Gedeh County), Senyah Town (Grand Bassa County), Velehnyan (Bong County), Mecca Town (Bomi County), Ziah Town (Nimba County), and Yerederbo Gbon (Maryland County).
This restoration brings relief to residents who have experienced service disruptions, in some cases for months or even years. For example, the network in Senyah Town was out of service for nearly two years due to the theft of the tower’s lightning ground, which has now been replaced.
Local residents and leaders have expressed their gratitude to the government and the LTA for their prompt action. The LTA has reiterated its commitment to expanding reliable telecommunications to every community in Liberia, with the hope of future upgrades to extend service to nearby towns and villages.
