The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO), in cooperation with the Jordanian Campaign, is continuing its humanitarian efforts in northern Gaza, distributing hot meals to displaced families and reaching approximately 5,000 beneficiaries each week, according to a statement from the organisation. The initiative is part of the wider Jordanian Campaign to Gaza, which reflects the Kingdom’s sustained humanitarian and medical support to the war-torn enclave, coordinated through JHCO.
JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli has recently said that since the outbreak of the war (in October 7, 2023), Jordan has dispatched around 8,455 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip. He emphasised that high-level coordination remains ongoing to ensure the continued delivery of assistance to those in greatest need.
In addition to ground efforts, the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) have carried out 164 airdrops since the resumption of operations on July 27. The JAF has also participated in 400 joint missions with international partners. According to official figures, the Royal Jordanian Air Force has so far delivered nearly 801 tonnes of humanitarian aid and essential supplies into Gaza via airdrops.
Meanwhile, the Jordanian field hospital in Khan Yunis, operational since November 20, 2023, continues to provide critical medical care. The facility has treated more than 628,421 patients to date and is staffed by specialists across various medical disciplines. The hospital aims to alleviate pressure on Gaza’s strained healthcare system during the ongoing crisis. Jordan runs another field hospital in Gaza’s north, which was established in 2009.
