IHS Côte d’Ivoire, part of the IHS Holding Limited (“IHS Towers”) group, one of the largest independent owners, operators, and developers of shared communications infrastructure in the world by tower count, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with NABU Global Inc. to support early childhood literacy in Côte d’Ivoire.
NABU is a nonprofit organization focused on addressing global literacy inequalities by publishing culturally relevant children’s books in local languages. Under this new partnership, NABU will implement a 12-month program in Côte d’Ivoire to raise awareness and promote reading among children through a combination of digital and print strategies. NABU will lead a literacy campaign to reach 100,000 children, including the printing of 1,000 books of 20 different titles, and conduct a nationwide digital marketing campaign.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, IHS Côte d’Ivoire and NABU will extend the program’s reach to more than 30 schools across the country. Through dedicated training programs, educators will be equipped to encourage and support children, particularly girls, to explore their interest in STEM subjects, seeking to spark curiosity and ambition from an early age. This initiative reflects NABU’s mission to close the digital and literacy gap by delivering culturally relevant and inspiring content to children around the world.
