Ethiopia and China have signed a memorandum of understanding to expand cooperation in digital and emerging technologies, with the aim of accelerating Ethiopia’s digital transformation and creating new jobs. This is reported by ENA, a partner of TV BRICS. Ethiopia’s Innovation and Technology Minister, Belete Mola, said the deal supports the “Digital Ethiopia 2025” agenda, which prioritises the development of artificial intelligence, big data, cloud services, 5G networks, and satellite communications.
China’s Industry and Information Technology Minister, Li Lecheng, underlined his country’s experience in digital infrastructure and pledged to share expertise to strengthen Ethiopia’s capacity. Both ministers said the agreement would not only advance Ethiopia’s digital economy but also contribute to broader socio-economic development across Africa.
