Abu Dhabi’s artificial intelligence sector is experiencing rapid growth, with new figures from the Abu Dhabi Chamber showing a 61% expansion between June 2023 and June 2024. The emirate is now home to 673 AI companies, cementing its position as one of the world’s key centres for AI innovation and enterprise. This is reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.
With roughly 90,904 AI firms worldwide, Abu Dhabi holds a significant share of the global market, emerging as the fastest-growing AI hub in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. More than 58% of its AI companies focus on innovation, research, and consultancy. The first six months of 2025 alone saw the launch of 150 new AI firms, fuelled by strategic investment, advanced infrastructure, and rising demand across sectors.
Shamis Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Second Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said the emirate is moving from early adoption of AI to “real-world transformation”, powered by research, strategic consultancy, and enterprise solutions. He credited Abu Dhabi’s success to strong collaboration between government, industry, and innovators. Central to this growth is the Chamber’s new 2025-2028 strategic roadmap, which prioritises ease of doing business, policy advocacy, and ecosystem connectivity.
