The Ministry of Communication, Telecommunications and Digital Economy of Senegal has held the second Steering Committee (COPIL) meeting of the Goin’ Digital Project, reaffirming the country’s determination to accelerate its digital transformation agenda. The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including technical and financial partners, as well as representatives from public institutions and the private sector, reflecting a strong commitment to advancing Senegal’s digital future.
Implemented in partnership with GIZ and Expertise France, the Goin’ Digital Project represents a cornerstone of Senegal’s strategic cooperation efforts in the field of digital development. The initiative is designed to drive innovation, strengthen data governance, and support the nation’s long-term vision for a robust and inclusive digital economy.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the progress of ongoing activities, enhanced coordination between partners, and set priorities to ensure that the project aligns with Senegal Vision 2050, championed by President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye. This alignment ensures that digital transformation contributes directly to national goals of sustainable growth, transparency, and sovereignty.
The Goin’ Digital Project operates under three key missions: strengthening digital sovereignty through mastery of infrastructure and data; fostering citizen-driven innovation to modernize public services and policies; and promoting digital inclusion, with a focus on empowering women and young people to participate actively in the digital economy.
According to the Ministry’s leadership, the project stands as a catalyst for technological progress and economic empowerment, positioning Senegal as a regional leader in digital transformation. The successful convening of the second COPIL marks an important milestone in deepening collaboration between Senegal and its international partners, reinforcing the nation’s ambition to make digital technology a powerful engine of prosperity and social inclusion.
