The Iranian Minister of Science and Research stressed the importance of revitalizing long-standing scientific and cultural relations with Egypt, affirming his country’s keenness to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries in these areas. In an interview with Al-Alam TV, Hossein Simai Saraf said that Iran would greatly welcome the revival of scientific and cultural relations with the Arab Republic of Egypt, a country with a rich civilization similar to that of Iran.
Simayi Saraf added that relations between the two countries’ educational and scientific research institutions were strong in the past, stressing that Iran is currently seeking to rebuild these important ties and has tasked the ministry’s official in charge of international affairs with following up on this issue. The minister explained that the Iranian side’s genuine will and desire are strong, expressing hope that this endeavor will be welcomed and approved by the Egyptian side. He emphasized that scientific diplomacy knows no political or administrative boundaries, but rather relies on the mutual desire and will of both parties.
