Hon. William Kabogo Gitau, a Kenyan official, has announced a new partnership with Kuwait to enhance collaboration in the digital economy. In a meeting with Kuwait’s Charge d’Affaires in Nairobi, Mr. Abdullahi Al-Fahad, discussions focused on how the two nations can work together to promote digital transformation and develop joint digital training programs.
The two countries are reportedly planning to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to formalize their partnership across various sectors, including Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Health, Transport, and Labour. This initiative is part of Kenya’s broader strategy to advance its digital transformation agenda, which includes the installation of 100,000 kilometers of high-speed fiber optic cable, the establishment of 1,450 digital hubs nationwide, and various digital literacy programs. The collaboration with Kuwait is expected to support these efforts and strengthen long-standing diplomatic relations between the two countries.
