Islamic countries affirmed in a joint statement on Thursday their support for Syria’s security, unity, stability, and sovereignty, and their rejection of all forms of Zionist interference in its affairs.
Over the past two days, the foreign ministers of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, and Egypt held talks on developments in Syria within the context of a unified stance and joint efforts to support security, stability, unity, sovereignty, and the rights of all Syrians.
The ministers welcomed the agreement reached to end the crisis in As-Suwayda Governorate, stressing the importance of its implementation to protect Syria, its unity, and its citizens, to prevent Syrian bloodshed, and to ensure the protection of civilians and the rule of law.
They also affirmed their support for establishing security and state sovereignty in Sweida and all other Syrian territories, and their rejection of violence, sectarianism, incitement, and hatred. The ministers condemned the repeated Israeli attacks on Syria, rejecting them as a flagrant violation of international law and a blatant assault on Syrian sovereignty, stressing that they undermine security, stability, and the unity of Syrian territory.
