Egypt’s Ministry of Transport has confirmed rapid progress on the construction of the Rubiki–10th of Ramadan–Belbeis railway line, a 63.5 km link that forms part of the Ain Sokhna–Alexandria logistics corridor. This is reported by Sada El-Balad, a partner of TV BRICS.
The project, led by national contractors and local consultants, includes the building of bridges, installation of tracks, and development of both passenger and freight stations. It aims to connect the dry port and logistics zone in 10th of Ramadan City with key Red Sea and Mediterranean ports such as Ain Sokhna, Adabiya, Port Said, Damietta, Alexandria, and Dekheila.
According to the report, this strategic line is expected to significantly enhance the movement of goods to and from 10th of Ramadan’s industrial zone, one of the largest in Egypt and the Middle East, by improving access between manufacturing centres and seaports.
The railway will also help decongest ports, increase container flow, and improve the efficiency of raw material and product transport both domestically and internationally. Additionally, a planned link to the dry port will further boost nationwide logistics integration.
