President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah received a farewell courtesy visit from H.E. Leena Viljanen, outgoing Ambassador of Finland to Namibia. During their discussion President Nandi-Ndaitwah lauded Ambassador Viljanen’s significant contribution to the strengthening of the already existing bilateral relations between the two countries, noting that her commitment led to the exchange of high-level visits between Namibia and Finland. This included the 2023 State Visit by H.E. Sauli Niinistö, former President of Finland.
President Nandi-Ndaitwah noted the Finnish government’s contribution in the areas of education and health, and with the discovery of oil in Namibia, President Nandi-Ndaitwah is looking forward to collaborating with Finland in the oil and gas sectors in developing these sectors. On her part, Ambassador Viljanen congratulated President Nandi-Ndaitwah for excellent work and achievement in her first hundred days in office as the President of the Republic of Namibia. Ambassador Viljanen noted that Finland is ready to work with Namibia in the energy and mining sectors.
